Sometimes I refer to myself as a “Documentary Whore”. I’ll watch a documentary about almost ANYTHING. …And like it! The other day, quite unexpectedly I might add, it appears that I got a …”new client if you will, mhm, that’s right!”. “His” name is ‘The Botany of Desire’, and how appropriate???
I strongly recommend you watch it. Apparently it was first a book by author Michael Pollan who collaborated with a long time producer friend of his to create this documentary. It’s fantastic. It takes you on a wonderful journey even if you don’t think you’re really into botany. — I think this documentary could succeed in changing that for you. I’ll stop there, because I don’t have any words to describe it, nor do I want to give it all away. Should you get a chance to watch it in its entirety, maybe you can comment back with an adjective to describe what you thought. …I am easily excitable about such things sometimes.
…Do you think it’s a coincidence that his last name is Pollan? …The power of names. I wonder if that’s like his stage name! He’s kind of a botany Rock Star really. He tells this story in the beginning about how watching the bees work was essentially the inspiration him to write this book. Even he is kind of like a little bee considering he’s dispersing this information and now I’m passing it on to you! Here is the trailer and here is the ‘The Botany of Desire’ in its entirety.
…Things that make you say Hmmm.

p.s. After you watch the documentary you’ll better understand why I opted to post that photo of the Apple Sweater {crafted by HandmaidenBC’s Shop, another etsy artist}. I think after watching The Botany of Desire, you will have a new respect for not just the apple, but plant life in general. …I suppose the same way many people now perceive to their pets to be “clothes-worthy” for lack of a better term (and no disrespect to the pets), you might feel that same way about your fruits and vegetables after your this experience.
