How do you begin the first entry of a blog, huh? Somebody answer that question. Anywhoo, welcome to Studio5! Studio5 is my home design studio where “the magic happens!” Some know me as fashion designer to wEmusTgRoW clothing, but being that I have an issue with titles and such, I prefer to be known simply as an Artist. I work primarily in the mediums of textiles, photography, graphic design and mixed media but certainly not limited to these. …It could be anything on any given day and I’m not that great at turning down a challenge.
Art is my one true love and all that falls under that massive umbrella. I am in love with the creative process in general from wood working, to glass blowing, under-water basket weaving you name it. I am a research/information junkie. I love music, history, fashion, …fashion history!, anyones autobiography, literature, poetry, film, daydreaming, time travel and learning about the origins of things. ….And the most high, I LOVE the most high. I love the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, well…almost anytime before NOW! I am friend, daughter, sister, mother.
Though I’m no expert, I’m big into numerology. …I do the numbers on almost everything. A while ago while I was in something of a slump I had a really strong urge to name my workspace but I kept ignoring it simply because the space wasn’t producing anything! …I just kept THINKING about creating, sketching, generating ideas, but was not motivated enough to see anything through to completion. Finally I had some long talks with myself about making some life changes and adjustments. I gave in to the urge and named it.
I’m pleased to say that it was exactly what the Dr. ordered and has been so fruitful since it ‘s naming. At one point I owned a boutique which was also my workspace, but I have to say out of any place I’ve ever lived or worked, Studio5 is the most amazing and it’s about 1/4 the size of the others. Why Studio5? It’s significance is huge at this stage in my life. The Studio5 blog is representative of all that is “I” which means it could ANY subject matter on ANY given day. My brain absorbs a lot. It’s erratic and it moves fast. Faster than even I can keep up with most times. I am a student of life: Past present and future. Most of all though, I hope this blog is informative and inspiring and fun. I think I need it as an outlet for me, and the information I take in all the time. After a while it all gets crammed in there and slightly overwhelming! So I gotta get it out.
When I started this post I thought I should give you some sort of story to start with, but I’d rather just tell “the story” as we go along. I hope you’ll stay connected on my blog journey! It’ll certainly be a work in progress but hopefully it’ll be beneficial to in some way. First post out of the way!
